Leadership
Christ Church Owensboro is a mission church of Saint Peter’s Presbyterian Church (SPPC) of Bristol Tennessee. The elders of SPPC in combination with Elder Whear are overseeing the church. Christ Church Owensboro has two active deacons, namely Mike McPherson and Brian Blair who oversee the mercy ministries. There is a functioning oversight committee, consisting of heads of household, setting the direction as we train, elect, and ordain more elders and deacons.
Teaching Elder
Since our inception, Kevin Whear has been set apart as an elder with the primary responsibilities for leading worship, preaching the Word and administering the sacraments. Kevin and his Joy were married in 1985, they have raised ten children in the nurture and admonition of the Lord and find themselves blessed to see their children’s children serving the Lord. Kevin has served as an ordained elder for more than 25 years.
